Solar Car Speed Record Smashed 72

An anonymous reader writes with word from Australia that "There's a new world record for the fastest solar-powered land vehicle: 88 km/h average speed over one kilometre in a lightweight car that uses about the same power as a toaster." As the article goes on to explain, this solar racer, built last year by students from the University of New South Wales, managed to nab that speed record earlier this month on an Australian navy base airstrip.

Comment Re:Maybe Chaos Theory will give us the answer? (Score -1) 479

actually i was living under the impression that chaotic is a system whos outcome can't be predicted by a lower complexity order system, using analysis tools inherent to this lower complexity class observer system (using linear math etc).
but then again, chaos has not a definitive and interdisciplinary definition.
chaos theory approaches it one way, computational sciences in some other way, ..., and ultimately philosophy another way.
you might be inclined to think par ex. that the prime number series is random and chaotic, but simply looking at ulam's spiral will make you doubt that it really is, and it will more likely suggest that a new analysys will find more order.

and all of this must be studied allwayz remembering that the human intellect has a real hard time dealing with chaos and this is by design ... so a lot of the definitions and approaches might be fataly flawed or misleading because of this bug we have ...
whatever :)
