Submission + - Is Choice a Problem for Android (sixrevisions.com)

mjone13 writes: Dave Feldmen in a blog posts says that the problem Android faces is giving consumers too much choice. He cites several studies which state that consumers generally are unhappier when they have too much choice. He then goes on to talk about Android fragmentation, app developer problems and bug issues. Finally he says the people who general prefer the choice Android provides are tinkers similar to gear heads who love tinkering with their car.

Is choice really a problem for Android?

Apple shareholders need their profits! 100% markup on their consumer electronics just isn't enough!

Lets see. Samsung has records profits. Google has record profits. But let's talk about how Apple is evil. B-b-b-b-but I live to make fun of Apple with no perspective on the rest of the industry. How will I live without bashing Apple.

Apple has a tough PR job. It seems everyday folks are trying to call out Apple for something or another. It was just a couple months ago that every news site was talking about apple phones exploding while charging. Samsung with their new smartwatch released a new charger and didn't use the micro-usb. I would put big money that if Apple releases a smartwatch their connector will work on that device.

My experience in situations like this is that the problem usually lies with the leadership of the organization. - Many projects fail or cost multiple times the original estimate because the business fails to put in the proper time identifying the requirements. They tell IT they want to do something and then send the IT group to make all the decisions. Then as the project get closer to completion they get more involved and the subsequent changes costs more money and takes longer. - The manager seems to be relying on the people who work for them for their advice. That's usually a good sign unless the entire IT group is useless. Have you reviewed the information the manager has provided? What is wrong with the advice or the information the group is providing? - Have you talked with the IT manager. Many time they know what the problem is or can give you a counter view that will help give the real picture of the problem.
