Who cares how fast it is? What kind of application requires real-time computing without a video output? The only thing I can think of is a server / router, which a 10 year old beige box could do.

Real-Time audio processing... it can be rather CPU intensive when you get up to 8 channels of audio running through many virtual processors... so much fun to play with. Doesnt need much graphical power though

MST? That's Microsoft, I presume? So you're in Microsoft and running other platforms? That's cool. So when do we see Gnune-Tool? :)

Actually its Missouri University of Science and Technology (Formerly the University of Missouri-Rolla) I would love to see the Zune running a linux derivative, if only so that we can get away from the crap M$ calls a software front-end - even if there is still DRM there, the Zune software is complete trash. The player OTH, is actually quite decent.

if Windows XP 64bit actually worked then this would be useful, but it doesn't it is completely useless as an OS because it is so unstable.

I beg to differ... I've been running XP x64 for a couple years now and its just as stable, if not more so, than x86. I've only had to do a couple tricks to make things work, simply because it was never pushed hard as a mainstream version

If you are looking for a good sub-notebook, and dont mind having a cd drive that is external, then the Dell Latitude L400 might do it for you. the thing is pretty small, has either a 500 or 750Mhz processor, battery life around 3-4hrs. the screen res is 1024x768, max mem 256mb (more than enough for a win xp pro or linux install). one can be had for around 200-300 on ebay. i actually just sold mine for $250 with a dock, cd drive, floppy, 2 chargers. (I have the Lenovo ThinkPad x61t to replace it, also a great subnotebook, but with a somewhat hefty price tag)
