You're right - it is the standard Corel boilerplate, produced by the same lawyer types who demand thousand-year exclusive rights to anything you might dream of while working for them [g] !

My cut on this is that Corel appear to have a case of foot-in-mouth disease right now, but, OTOH, they're probably also not keen on the whole world seeing whatever boo-boos they're making at this stage.

They've declared that they'll give most of it away when they release it, and that they'll keep enough of their own goodies back in order to make a profit (they have to do that too, y'know [g]). Thus there end up being 2 distributions - one of Debian/KDE with the Corel installer, etc., and one with all the extra goodies, like a full version of the WPO2K Suite or whatever.

Finally, it is only a legal document. If you don't like it, you don't have to sign it ! OTOH, if you is sign it, then you've signed it with both eyes wide open, and are then bound by what you and Corel agree to in the agreement. Claiming afterwards that the agreement is patently wrong is ludicrous, because if it was that obvious everyone would have seen it in advance and refused [g] !

I'm more interested in seeing what they manage to produce than in legal wrangles; this may be the first time that Open Development and Corporate Development have joined forces - let's not discourage it !

Have fun, everyone !
