Land belongs to individuals, or voluntary organizations of individuals. It does not belong to "society" (by which you mean, 'Total State').

As a matter of fact, successful revolutions such as the American Revolution had strong conservative streaks; such revolutions overthrew existing regimes in the name of ancient and long established principles that the regimes had been undermining and corrupting.
