The last place I worked for has a CEO that made the office thrive on conflict. Everyone was afraid of not writing the very best code possible. If you turned in something that wasn't 100% perfectly written and would get anything less than a 4.0 from CI you'd take heat for it. It made it impossible to work on any fast paced innovation. On top of that, the CEO was one of these people who read every single leadership and team building books he could find. He's change up our scrum focus every month, have us rearrange the office layout every 2 weeks, etc. He'd give you new responsibilities on the next cycle to make you feel more in charge and then hold it over your head like the sword of Damocles.
It never left me in a comfortable place to work. My true fear was that this was how offices were evolving.
