That scene took you out of the movie? What about his ability to stab an orc with an arrow, it not get broken, and then shoot again? If there is something Jackson is trying to convey to us, it's that Legolas is a bad-ass elf. I, for one, believe it. But I am sometimes called a weak-minded jackass, so you decide.
