Comment Spirituality on the Net (Score 1) 72

One thing the net is good at doing is connecting people across physical borders -- Linux users, Christians, whatever. I spend most of my 'fun' computer time participating in a mailing list for Anglicans/ Episcopalians. There are about three hundred of us and we can be as bitchy and as encouraging as the best of /. There are quite a few geeks on this list, including a real UNIX heavyweight; ie people who know better than to fall for the where-do-you-want-to-go-today rhetoric. We don't seek 'enlightenment' from email, it's mostly a space for reflecting on our religious activities out in the 'real world'.

And by the way -- the Deity likes Linux for sure!
