Yep, mod parent up please. Not that it'll do any good, I think it's probably too late to take back the definition of 'hacker' in the public mind. I think the only thing to do is use it in the original sense as much as possible to at least give it a dual meaning.

I get funny looks when I bemoan the lack of a hackerspace in my local area, but it does give me an opportunity to educate.

You'll pay for your treachery! 1337 HAXOR spaces will be the fall of civilization.

Videogames are supposed to be this way. The person who wrote this is obviously a friggin n00b. I have been playing games since the 1970's and it's the way it is. This is business as usual and writing an article that is contrary to it is just plain dumb. Videogames make more money than the movie industry. I play and make video games and if the game suck then don't give me money. If it rocks please give me my money beeeechaz. Not half not some but all my cash. end of line...

Is this all flash and no substance or does it just reflect the times we live in. Defined: This is the way things are for presentation. This way of acquiring information is here to stay. They must keep up with the state of the art. Especially to appeal to the younger people who will in several years be of voting age. We complained about voter turn out and now it's gotten better that it has been in decades. You all still complain. Do something about it in a literal way. I think the best way to make change is from the inside out. Yes we are in this world. No one ever said anything about us having to be of the world.

Dude, some kind of liquid obviously entered the battery compartment of the computer. I can explain how one could sustain liquid damage starting from the bottom up. You spilled coffee on your table and because of capillary action the battery compartment drew in the liquid. Not only is that a factor but the internal fans helped it along too. Yes, a partial vacuum. I see this stuff all the time. People never deny it. They just want it fixed for free. I understand that. Why on Earth would one want to destroy their tech. You speak of wanting to hit people. But if you were face to face someone like me would explain in detail for as long as you needed that your warranty is void. The customer nor the company is not always right.
