small sailboat racers knew in 1970s that using 800 grit sandpaper to rough the smooth surface of fiberglass hulls reduced drag by noticeable amounts. The Engineers and Physicists at the yacht club explained the roughness held a layer of water which is far smoother than the fiberglass or waxed fiberglass.

AT&T is misframing! The 3% live in areas where cell service does not reach. They rely on existing copper lines for emergency 911 calls.

The Wang network had 300-baud modem to attach to LBL mainframe. PDP-8 was standalone with whopping 4K core memory. CDC6600 2x2x4-foot box supposedly would've taken only 15 seconds to melt down if cooling failed. Peripherals filled a large building. Printers spew a whole box of fanfold in seconds. Card readers read boxes of cards in seconds. IBM1401 was for school district payroll. Typing this on Raspberry PI 4B...
