Actually, I think insurance companies are in the business to screw you. Get this, how about the stupid insurance that your cell carrier tries to sell you on a mobile phone that probably cost you $100. $7.95 / month!!! That almost 8% per month. THEN there's a $30 deductible if you bust your phone! What a joke. Imagine if auto insurance was 8%. $25000 car * 8% = $2000 / month!
