I'd love to see what happens when I just sit on my ass and let things break on the network. Maybe that would put things into perspective.

I guess it's a matter of: when it works, thank the boss for putting such a good system in the place. When it breaks, blame the admin for doing a bad job.

They only notice your work when something goes wrong.
