That's more likely due to the fact that there was no Internet to quickly spread their actions, so the government could control the narratives much more easily to all but the most localized populations.
It's only impossible for the short period of time it takes for your body to realize the benefits and 'crave' it. Also, exercise can be as simple as take a walk. It's amazing how just getting out for 30 minutes can put your day in perspective and clear your head. If you REALLY need incentive, get a dog. They're creatures of habit and won't take 'no' for an answer when it's their time for their walk.

A friend of mine recently said of the global economy: America innovates, Japan makes it smaller, China makes it cheaper. For a bit of context, he's a naturalized citizen from a southeast Asian country, so there's likely some bias, but it not as much against the US.

This isn't about an actual delay, it's about sowing confusion around the election. If rumors start flying around regarding a delayed election, then it could result in a lower turnout from people not voting on the actual election day. It wouldn't suprise me if areas unfriendly to Trump get canvassed with misinformation regarding the date, process, etc. It's right out of their playbook...
