Absence of evidence does not prove that lab leak is false. The CCP acted deceitfully and in bad faith early in the pandemic to block access to WIV researchers and data, which easily could have put this question to bed. The US State Dept documented this and several troubling factors that needed to be addressed before a lab leak could be excludedâ" these never happened: https://2017-2021.state.gov/fa... No, that information will never be availableâ" but that doesnt reduce the likelihood of lab leak. If I killed Einstein before he published his theories of relativity, those insights may also never be forthcoming, but it wouldnt make them any less true, and possibly discoverable. Stop trying to silence open debate and start being more convincing in your arguments. These scientists have financial conflicts of interest â" theyâ(TM)re virologists, whose reputations would suffer if lab leak were true, and whose funding sources will be throttled by legislators. So for Godâ(TM)s sake, just assume it is trueâ" and learn from it. How come no one can simply say âoeletâ(TM)s act as though it had happened, in which case we need to stop doing X, Y, Zâ â" for example, stop using US funding for research in foreign laboratories controlled by hostile powers like the CCP, who acted with contempt to the interests of communities around the globe in providing information on the origin of SARS-CoV2? How about just that? The zoonosis theory needs no additional supportâ" it is true for so many other viral spillover events, that the motivation for closing wet markets stands on its own. No US regulatory or funding bodies are âoediverting resourcesâ away from this goalâ" the truth of lab leak in no way threatens this, as much as it does their livelihoods.

This conversation is disappointing. From the very beginning of UFO sightings in the modern era, the stories that have been the most convincing with respect to the veracity of claims and sincerity of the witnesses have been pilots. There is a lot of recorded audio transmissions from pilots observing, in some cases tracking, UFOs. The idea that these professionals would take time out of their work day to goof off and pretend they were seeing something that was not there has always seemed a bit beyond the pale. And if a professional pilot cannot identify what he is seeing in the air, by definition the object is a UFO. This audio has been available for years, so I dont understand why any formal acknowledgement by the US Navy should somehow strengthen the credibility of what was already strong evidence for the existence of UFOs. Or is it the case that very few of the people commenting here are actually aware of the extant evidence base? The more interesting question really is: what are these objects? Letâ(TM)s be honest â" if UFOs as sighted by pilots are simply pieces of trash or weather-phenomenon, I doubt pilots would have been mystified enough by their behavior to report it. Please explain how trash or weather can give rise to large discrete objects (sometimes detectable on radar) that reportedly manuever with acceleration patterns that existing aircraft are not known to be capable of? Iâ(TM)m not saying thereâ(TM)s any proof that they are extra-terrestrial, but if they were, would this be inconsistent? And if they are not, what is the next best hypothesis? Which government is capable of this technology and if it was ours, wouldnt we take credit for it?
