Vyatta has announced the availability of its 2.2 beta, codenamed "Camarillo." This release includes a number of enhancements, new features, and more than 100 bug fixes for Vyatta's commercially supported open, flexible router (OFR) distribution.
The perons who usually keep their eye on Business Intelligence world would definately know that Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2000 Analysis Services (MSOLAP) is the most widely used BI tool around there, in fact Cognos is the grand father of all of these tools, but when we speak about the number of Installations in the market MSOLAP is the king.
This acquision bring MS and Oracle head to head. Recently Oracle has not been very successfull with its OLAP tools, although people usually keep Oracle DB at back and use MSOLAP at the front.
Tweaking Hyperion make it use Oracle dependent and/or update it as fast at MS does would be good decision for them. But again this is really a long term planning and lots of stuff has to be done.
An anonymous reader writes "A Wordpress blogger wrote up a guide to camping out on launch day. From the article: 'This is a download of my experience of over twenty-plus years of gaming and having been a part of six console launch days. No, I've never had to stand on line without knowing that my system was reserved. But I've spoken to enough people and accumulated enough knowledge to share. And with that said, here's my list of guidelines to insure that your camp-out in front of Best Buy, Target, Circuit City or Toys R Us is safe and not in vain.' Good luck to all the readers waiting outside for a PS3 or Wii next week." A lot of it is common-sense, but he has some good advice on pre-planning.
