Of course you can't choose how the user chooses to view your site - but you're talking about a relatively small percentage of users. Most users that I deal with at least wouldn't know how to change the font in the first place :)
These users won't decide whether to view these links or not. They will be forced to view them... MS ramming marketing down the pour souls throats again :))
