SGI Octane MXI Jaleo RT Uncompressed Digital Beta, etc. Many linux editing solutions have been rumored, none have materialized to my knowledge. Sub-unix stability will not work. That goes for Macs running Avid as well. I work with a few, and they are prone to vague troubles, difficult to run down. Don't get me started on editing with windoze. RT-2000 card crashed on me every 10 minutes after several techs assured me that it was configured "properly."
