Comment Any desert on Earth is more hospitable (Score 1) 75

Any desert on Earth is more hospitable than the Moon. I love the Moon and wish it was easy to grow crops there and ship them back to earth. However without gravity, water, and limited sunlight the costs are driven up. It would be cheaper to air condition a greenhouse in a desert that’s already on Earth than to build one on the Moon and ship food thousands of miles. Maybe until we figure out how to make “Cool Moon Crops” we could just find a semi-desert area on Earth, like Lancaster California, and call it “putting moon crop funds to better use” and actually grow something worthwhile.
