Why not extending our current scheme?
The email system uses the @ (at) sign to designate people "at" a certain logical location
john.doe@company.com
[john.doe AT Company.com]
why not extend this with
john.doe@company.com#phone or
john.doe@company.com#fax
john.doe@company.com#icq
john.doe@company.com#cellphone
john.doe@company.com#postal
john.doe@comapny.com#anymeans
etc.
[John Doe AT Company.com BY phone]
[John Doe AT Company.com BY fax]
etc.
We have to figure out a convenient character for the "BY" part. I would certainly welcome this scheme and it seems pretty straighforward to integrate in the current scheme of communication.
