while formal word has not been handed down to me to allow him to install this disgusting thing on my linux boxes, i would like to be prepared to object against such an action.
i have done some research and come up with only 2 points: 1. liveupdate and the engine works as root (and sits in the taskbar as root) 2. there have previously been vulnerabilities in this program
during my research i could not find the total number of actual virii (not vulnerabilities in programs) that could infect a normal linux box.
i am asking slashdot to help me forestall the installation of a suspect program that will "protect" my boxes.
