Comment Some People are Upset (Score 1) 196

The people most driven up the wall are the gregarious salespeople and managers whose spouses have burst their bubble about how likeable they really are. One guy who had been begging to go back to the office told bad joke after bad joke on an emergency call. Not feeling any social pressure as we weren't in the same room, no one laughed or groaned. I'm more sympathetic to the 20-somethings who made friends at work, and live somewhere fun.

Have private tutors register which students they're instructing with the college board that runs the SAT. Just make it another data point. If colleges would prefer someone whose parents paid for tutoring or private school, meaning they may have broader emotional support to not drop out, that's useful in retention rates. Or they find out that the student paid for that instruction him or herself? That would impress me.

The United States used bacteriophages prior to antibiotics. Russia kept using bacteriophages, but they target them to specific illnesses. Doing this properly requires a lab and, in the U.S., probably an insurance review and authorization that would complete some 14 business days after death. Antibiotics control bacteria better, cut out the middle man, and allow our go go capitalist practitioners to punch communism in the nose.

If theyâ(TM)re mentored well, maybe. However, I have worked with several managers who had a crippling fear of high IQ people, and would let them rot. Iâ(TM)m going to go out on a limb and guess 115 is probably enough, with 110 being enough for Ops. An engineering mindset and attitude are probably more important. Empathy helps other be more productive as well.
