Comment Teams footprint on the system (Score 1) 78

Not sure if it's my win 10 enterprise but just by starting teams and running in the background (no chats and no meetings) the memory consumption is 1/2 a gig, that doesn't sound normal. For crying out loud, Outlook with several gig pst files and corp ost file is hogging 200MB after a week and Lync (of skype, what have you) is using 150 MB after a week.

I did the same thing, but with the 10.10 the developers decided to remove some key legacy devices (/dev/dsp) and the new graphics drivers (in Kubuntu not sure about the Gnome version) are choppy and crash applications for Science research like Pymol all the time. Although I found a simple fix, boot from Debian squeeze CD, install and all problems gone.

Five years ago the first blackberry devices were introduces with blue-tooth technology. This was I believe the first smart phone device to have it built in on the market. Most laptops had different blue-tooth stacks and the BDM software was not able to interact with them unless it was modified through inf files on windows platforms. Now after three years of having an IPhone, I've been given by the new company a new torch RIM device. So i decided to sync or tether using my Asus laptop with a build-in Toshiba BT stack. To my surprise it still doesn't work. This and many other unpolished or dumb-ass reasons RIM will not stand a chance with its "We don't care attitude". Regards, A

Two weeks ago installed windows xp-pro on a laptop with all security updates etc. Java (the latest), Foxit (the latest), IE8 etc. to keep it short. I setup a user account, added it to a domain, set the user as "Power user" (no admin rights). Pufff, done in less than two weeks. Pop-ups slow as sin. Words of advice, install an AV it might not work well and give you a false sense of security, but might last a bit longer between re-preps. I never tried the Microsoft AV, but from what I read. it's free.

Try making it work, It is been broken for a few months as Microsoft did the update to their new and shiny Net framework. There might be also a conflict as you will not use a browser and will not get bombarded with advertisement. So not in the interest of Microsoft. Also I strongly disagree with building these heavy email monopolies that will brake in due course most of the mail servers on the net just like Yahoo is doing it lately.

SBS is wonderful, if you have 5 users on the system. Additional licenses will kill you...., oh yeah, love the Exchange integration and no backup AD controllers. SBS is a crippled pos. One other thing I found to be quite interesting with MS AD servers, how does one manage hundreds of systems being re-prepped or replaced from the AD. I haven't found any good way to manage computers in the AD.

I must agree with this statement. I experienced and issue with Alcatel HomeTouch modems and Belkin routers, these DSL modems been on the market for nine odd years never had a problem with them. Bought 20 or so Belkin wireless routers and none would establish a DSL connection. After changing several routers from different manufacturer the problem was isolated to be the Belkin routers. Reported the problem to tech support, in India I guess, two months passed and still no fix.
