How come I cannot edit my post? A better formated version:
Our world is not on a flat ground. You cannot simply apply the whole moral system of a rich world into a poorer one. You must admit that people in this world are naturally UNFAIR in terms of the accessibility to a good living standard. While rich people in this world or people who lives in the rich countries tend to think they are enjoying the fair share of the world's source because they paid for it. They keep telling/teaching people born in a poorer country: "Hey! Why you try to get more enjoyment of life that beyond your purchase power? That is immoral! If I was as poor as you I would just live with it."
I was grown up in a developing country and then immigrated to a developed country. I also work for an IT company in North America. Actually I found new immigrants from developing world tend to be more competitive (both in school and real job) in a well developed country compare to the local citizen there. For the whole early stage of my life, I have heard enough things like your opinion. Americans think they deserve to enjoy more than 20% of the world's natural source with less than 5% of the world's population. Not because they are 4~5 times smarter than people in the developing world, just because their countries get industrialized earlier and they are just so much richer.
"If we couldn't afford something, we didn't buy it." That is because you and your friends and co-workers are in the SAME economic system! You get what you earn - it is correct ONLY WITHIN that economy system! There are many people on this world who are as smart as you and are working much harder than you but earning less than 1/10 of your salary! So if you want to talk about fairness, tell me why they should not have the right to enjoy what you can have in your life?
"You said you lived in an underdeveloped country. Is it illegal in your country to pirate US-made stuff" Haha... so lucky they can still breathe because the local air is not marked "Property of US, we have paid for it with US dollar!". Thanks for your mercy.
