Uh, you trust Wikipedia. There's currently fiction all over the USA version, and my edits don't stick.

While I do (mostly) trust Wikipedia, this (Ewing inventing Red Hat) doesn’t come from that source. I was there.

We all want to be rich. ;-) Both Taco and Linus deserve to be highly rewarded for the value they have created that the rest of us benefit from. (Although for the newbies and humor-challenged readers: Slashdot did not invent Red Hat. That would be Marc Ewing.)

No, it wasn’t the Covid downturn that killed them. It was the $600 million of debt. Never a good idea to pile that much debt on a low margin business.
