Comment I have a gran idea coming from the truly poor! (Score 0) 842

Honestly I have no use for that much money. My goal would be to invest about 50% of it. Take what ever money would be gained and hand it out to the people. Not from some agency or NPO. I would go to the streets daily and hand out everything I could. I would pay others to do the same. I would go to stores and pay attention if anyone is using state funding(food stamps etc.) and offer to pay their bill. Then give them double what ever it came to in cash. I would go to local farmers markets and buy them out. Then sit on the corner giving it all out for free. I would go to soup kitchens and take them all out to a restaurant. I would spend my money on the people. Not looking for friends or to be praised. I see too much suffering here in Woonsocket R.I.. No questions. No matter whom. Of course then again I may have nothing left to live for anymore depending on how today goes.

that is quite rite. back then they used UHF which can travel much further. it could also be her leaving a message for the future to pick up. since radio-waves can last for hundreds of years. i do not know why everyone here thinks cellphones are only digital now. they still use analog in most of the world for talking.

just to point out. one thing is back then they did not need as many towers. second the first cellphones were invented in 1919. as for the network we all know it would have been ma bell. also back then their werent so many radio signals being broadcast so the waves were clearer. meaning you would get good reception at a long distance. i believe they use to use UHF.

British Pizza Chain To Install Cones of Silence 122

itwbennett writes "British pizza chain Pizza Express is installing iPod docks and soundproof domes in booths of their new iPizzeria stores. 'The idea is that you can plug in your iPod and play whatever music you like without disturbing other diners,' says blogger Peter Smith. 'But I'm sure it'd work for talking about government secrets and other spy stuff, too.'"

umm you sound like the USA won the war. i think you need to look a bit deeper. we lost the war. look at the country since and the way it has gone. what better way to take over than to act as tho you lost. then the people will fall to your will easily as they think they are the victor. we lost get over it. that is why our freedoms are going away. just do a bit of research and you too will see. we lost. no hitlers brain/skull etc. why? because hes still alive and in power. sorry but this had to be said

Ethical Killing Machines 785

ubermiester writes "The New York Times reports on research to develop autonomous battlefield robots that would 'behave more ethically in the battlefield than humans.' The researchers claim that these real-life terminators 'can be designed without an instinct for self-preservation and, as a result, no tendency to lash out in fear. They can be built without anger or recklessness ... and they can be made invulnerable to ... "scenario fulfillment," which causes people to absorb new information more easily if it agrees with their pre-existing ideas.' Based on a recent report stating that 'fewer than half of soldiers and marines serving in Iraq said that noncombatants should be treated with dignity and respect, and 17 percent said all civilians should be treated as insurgents,' this might not be all that dumb an idea."
