Looks like a an example of how God chose evolution for His method and pulled us from the pack and endowed us with a spiritual soul at the correct moment in order to make us human. Evolutionary theory and even the existence of life on other planets is not outside the realm of God. As humans we only know a small piece of the puzzle especially since we have fallen from grace through Original Sin. But if we follow God on His terms then we will get to the see the whole picture in the end. Those who think that God would not use evolution limit his power and mystery, and in my opinion limit their faith to something of their own creation.
