I seem to recall, when it first made the news, that they had used some sort of underground radar to confirm the aircraft's presence and could make out the outline of them all. Seems odd that it turns out they aren't there, unless I dream't that first bit? Conspiracy theory anyone?

We wouldn't put up with having to take our cars back to the dealer to have required maintenance done that would take away some feature or option we paid for, let alone having the maintenance leave the car in a troubled or non-working state.

A friend of mine is an Audi technician and claims if you purchase a re-map for your cars ECU, some manufacturers will reset it back the the factory defaults (or maybe some minor upgrade) when you take it in for a service. So you may well lose something you paid for on your car.

Survey Says To UK — Repeal Laws of Thermodynamics 208

mostxlnt writes "As we noted, the new Tory UK government has launched a website asking its subjects which laws they'd most like repealed. There are proposals up for repeal of the Laws of Thermodynamics: Second, Third, and all (discussion thread on this one closed by a moderator). One comment on the Third [now apparently deleted] elucidated: 'Without the Third Law of Thermodynamics, it would be possible to build machines that would last forever and provide an endless source of cheap energy. thus solving both potential crises in energy supply as well as solving the greenhouse gas problem in one step... simples... eh?'"
