These people created a system where two things without any inherent value, Luna and USDT, were supposed to track another highly manipulated system and also one without any inherent value, the US dollar, and the whole thing was backed by another system without any inherent value either, Bitcoin.
One of the ways in which the system was supposed to function is to burn some assets on one system in order to "create value" in the other. Hopefully this serves as a lesson that value and price are not the same thing.
Polling for Democrats is horrible and they're changing their tune in a very obvious way with regards to masks, mandates, etc.
Here's the link that I couldn't get past the ascii-art filter: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.go...
This "study" is just a counter marketing campaign and not some neutral, sober, analysis of the arguments these 12 make accompanied by their counterarguments. One example is about a mask study (which Slashdot doesn't allow me to link even though it's on the nih.gov website) that proved wearing a mask is bad for you: "Conclusions: This study is the first RCT of cloth masks, and the results caution against the use of cloth masks." Rather than discuss the research, the complaint is that it is against FB policy: "Facebook’s policies state that false claims about the safety and efficacy of masks are prohibited. Tenpenny, who regularly advocates against mask-wearing, is clearly in violation of that policy here."
Just because Facebook does not permit something to be posted, doesn't mean it's not true. And calling someone a disinformation spreader for spreading something apparently true but against FB policy might make you one.
I'm not even going to try to defend the offending statement but FreeBSD does have Linux binary compatibility. That doesn't make it Linux, obviously, but it's also not "nothing".
"FreeBSD provides binary compatibility with Linux®, allowing users to install and run most Linux® binaries on a FreeBSD system without having to first modify the binary. It has even been reported that, in some situations, Linux® binaries perform better on FreeBSD than they do on Linux®." source: https://docs.freebsd.org/en/bo...
One of the reasons they never had any is that the IDF bombed the reactor that Iraq had acquired from France in 1976. That reactor was destroyed on the 7th of June 1981 before it was taken into production. The operation was called "Operation Opera" or "Operation Babylon" and was preceded my multiple assassinations of scientists and attacks in France itself in order to prevent the shipment of reactor parts to Iraq in the first place.
OVH was forced by a French court order to allow law enforcement and intelligence agencies access to a server hosting an encrypted messaging service called "EncroChat". This allowed officials from multiple European countries to listen in on all communications going through that server and exposed drug shipments, kill orders, corruption, etc. The intel acquired resulted in a lot of indictments and caused all sorts of damage to a lot of criminal organisations. Now, this may be far fetched but it wouldn't surprise me the slightest if this was some sort of retaliation against OVH's cooperation.
There's no doubt that N95 masks work to protect the wearer and others. The real questions are:
- Do the types of masks that regular people wear work either as well as N95 masks or at all?
The only randomised control trial I've seen warns against using the cloth masks. Quote:
"This study is the first RCT of cloth masks, and the results caution against the use of cloth masks. This is an important finding to inform occupational health and safety. Moisture retention, reuse of cloth masks and poor filtration may result in increased risk of infection. Further research is needed to inform the widespread use of cloth masks globally. However, as a precautionary measure, cloth masks should not be recommended for HCWs, particularly in high-risk situations, and guidelines need to be updated."

- Do mask mandates work?
I cannot find any evidence in any of the charts that a mask mandate has any effect on infection rates. One issue is that it's unfalsifiable in that you can always argue that the infection rates would have been even higher without a mask mandate. However, the more logical conclusion would be that the majority of transmissions happen in situations where masks aren't mandated like in your own home.
If you hate Apple enough, it's easy to dismiss what's happening right in front of us at the moment. What I find most interesting is looking at what this M chip can do already but also to keep in mind that they have yet to release their "Pro" spec chip (P-series?).
This is just the first iteration of a mobile level chip and it's already outperforming x86 CPUs and discrete GPUs, albeit older ones. Going the route of previously unseen levels vertical integration also opens up all sorts of new systems development avenues in areas that are up until now unexplored by PC makers.
Given the performance levels we're already seeing, I believe we're all in for quite the shock when they release their P-series chip.
- Most people who use a CLI, prefer a CLI (CLI 61 vs GUI 7).
- Most people who use a GUI, prefer a GUI (GUI 169 vs CLI 30) .
- The amount of respondents currently using a GUI is higher than those currently using a CLI.
I don't think it's a very interesting study, especially given the lack of any questions regarding the (operating) systems used.
The only representative experiment would be if they would offer:
- a living wage,
- until the end of their lives,
- for minimum wage workers.
The amount of people who quit their jobs should tell you if UBI is feasible at all, or not.
Documentation is the castor oil of programming. Managers know it must be good because the programmers hate it so much.
