You claim to know your Linux history, however you seem a bit sketchy on your PC history. Apple's influence, and of course the glories of Woz, are much more influential than you think. Yes the Mac comes later than the PC... but Woz had, admittedly, very little to do with the Mac. What he did do, and I have owned a few of these boxen, is the Apple ][. Don't ever forget that graceful little box that brought good computing into the home. On that platform, the first software to really sell hardware was created (VisiCalc). So, yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus; and yes I think I've thwarted yet another effort to dispel the truth of home computing.
