Comment Domain Rights (Score 1) 91

If you have deep pockets, you can defend your self, however if your pockets aren't as deep as "AOL" then you might as well cave in. In order for a lawyer to even consider a response for one of my domain names, I was told it would cost me $25,000.00 and its no gurantee. What am I suppose to do at that point? FYI: In the end I lost because it all came down to them saying I registered the name in "Bad Faith". Since when does freedom of expression of any word or context constitute bad faith. All I did was register the name because it was for a class project. Again, if I had a high powered lawyer to defend myself against AOL, I might of won. I didn't so I lost. Oh well. When will I get appointed to ICANN so I can represent the general public? If we look at who the unelected officials are at ICANN, I bet you will find that they are from one of the top 10 Technology companies....... Is this not conflict of interest or am I blind?
