It's actually not a bad idea. Centralized databases are prone to security breaches. Having your credentials in an encrypted ipfs store somewhere could be more secure if it's only accessible through a token on a blockchain.

That being said, there's no way anyone knows what you've actually put on the ipfs store if the entire contents aren't being exposed during the age check. You could put any old ID you wanted in there.

You don't want the infotainment system being handled by the same control module as the engine or safety system/airbags. Realistically-speaking you want maybe three separate control modules. Anything more than that and it's someone either overengineering their cars or using cheap low-performance components featuring legacy chips that can't be relied on to handle multiple subsystems.

How cheap is cheap? If you're in the $20-$30k range there's still a lot available. The problem is people keep trying to buy SUVs or trucks, and those are NOT cheap.

It just means a). China often misrepresented how bad these deals would be prior to duping client states into signing them and b). the deals often don't provide as much benefit as expected, making it even harder to make debt payments.

China will take their payment in other ways. Plus they have an excess of production capacity for solar panels so they need a place to send their product to keep their industry running.
