Journal lemming's Journal: Desktop hardware 3
I was inspired this weekend (free time, zomg!) to survey my desktop hardware and try to piece together a workable system. Between an old scavanged celery-SMP server from work, my previous desktop, my old fileserver, OneMike's old desktop, and the remains of my media machine, I've cobbled together two, count 'em, two reasonably spec'd out machines. Not too shabby, when you think about the generally bad shape those machines were in--not one of them was running. Several bad power supplies, actual physical case defects, bad memory, spurious PICs on the MBs, yada yada...

Yeah, I recycled the name. Probably will be running fileserver/media duty. Put it in the nice server case (full tower zomg!).
Both of them were in the process of installing SP2 when I left for work this morning. I'm also going to configure the latter for server duty this evening.
You know what this means? Between Mike^2 and myself, we have a full party worth of WoW capable machines...
