Comment Re:They should force Google to drop Chrome (Score 1) 650

Firefox is an amazing browser that is extensible and everything. I have my Fx installation with several useful plugins. However, when I don't need to use them, Google Chrome loads up in 1 second only, and responds rapidly, much better in actual performance than Firefox.. and really, no one can force you to do anything. Chrome is fast because it's very simple. Even if the multi-process idea to ported to Firefox, I guess that the plugins we install and the numerous features it has will worsen the performance.

Repair Crews Reach Vicinity of Damaged Cables In Mediterranean 145

GWMAW writes "A robotic submarine searched beneath the Mediterranean on Sunday for damaged communications cables, two days after Web and telephone access was knocked out for much of the Middle East. Telecommunication providers from Cairo to Dubai continued Sunday to scramble to reroute voice and data traffic through potentially costly detours in Asia and North America after the lines running under the Mediterranean Sea were damaged Friday." According to the article, "Once found, the cable ends will be pulled to the surface and repaired on deck — a process that could take several days."

Exactly the same thing I say whenever I hear more these silly stuff. I might be judgmental when I call this research silly, but all that effort could have been placed somewhere more productive (think humans). But then again, every aspect of science is important. I might not be interested in this but many others would.
