Why don't they just attach a big drill to the front of it, and it can drill a new oil well as it lands?

Ummm... "They already have a working model". That sort of made it seem like you know, maybe they had something that they could use at a range of more than a few FEET. This is a long way off. And maybe not even theoretically sound? Sounds little early to be news.

If you give them the ability to install anything, guaranteed they'll break it. Especially when they start googling to find out how to get device X or program Y to work, and then follow a 4 year old tutorial and issue a ton of superuser commands, the last of which finally breaks their grub and then they just install windows over ubuntu again
