Sometimes the people he's dealing with are functionally illiterate. Say you're John A. Smith and got [e-mail] as your email address back when Gmail was invitation only. Later along come John N. Smith ant John S. Smith. They put their middle initial into their Gmail address. Then their contacts prove their inability to read by not noticing the doubled N or S in the name. I've found this out the hard way (I was the early adopter). Now I know way too much about the travel plans, employment, family drama, and private life of people all over the country. and that's just from the innocent mistakes. The malicious ones can be even worse.
