My commute is 7 miles a day each way. Maybe I'll do some shopping. I rarely do more than 40 miles a day, and if I intended to do more, presumably I could temporarily disconnect myself from "the grid". I'm also assuming that it would make financial sense to rent out my battery cycles. If it didn't, nobody would volunteer. Maybe you get a new battery for free from Tesla if your old one breaks.

You can laugh now, but 3 months ago when Tesla's stock was at $250 I posted that their revenue was down and EV sales were declining. Of course, now their stock is up at $640 I look like an idiot :( https://news.slashdot.org/comm... I hope nobody listened to my advice - I gambled away a lot of my pension fund shorting Tesla, and I'm probably going to be looking for work again at the age of 70. I know I come across as a smartass at times, but most of my "knowledge" comes from a bit of Googling and the sad habit of spending 12 hours a day glued to this forum. I'll probably regret this post later, but I've had a few drinks and I'm feeling sad :(
