Comment remdesivir and oil of oregano (Score 0) 93

I am recovering from symptomatic covid, 1 week home quarantine after 5 days of hospitalization. Had pneumonia in right lung. Remdesivir helped recover wiithin 2 days. Few days before hospitalization, my symptoms were of covid but test was negative. I thought I didn't have covid since test is negative. I was on azithromycin and used oil of oregano almost 5 times a day mostly when having breathing difficulties. It did relax breathing difficulties within 10 to 15 minutes. Was assuming that its some strong infection, so oil of oregano should be good enough (used 6 drops of Oreganol P73 mixed with 50ml water) . The 2nd test after 5 days came positive, so got admitted. Remdesivir in my case appeared to be quick acting. No breathing problem after 1st dose itself. I'm mentioning my experience above, infection is dangerous and seek medical help immediately, don't self treat.

Comment hurray google did it again (Score 1) 130

Don't think google has done anything right in the UI, including Android. One of the reasons iphone stays ahead is because they keep their UI simple. People think google search engine became popular due to its algorithms 20 years back. This is not true. For that era of internet, it didn't have any graphics etc. so it was very fast to load and work. So the key reason for its popularity was no clutter on search page. For every service that they have, they take drastic decisions without actually improving them. This is one reason people are dead scared of GCP.

With India, China has always claimed all areas to be disputed with literally no proof. With all the money they made from stolen technologies, they are utilizing it against nations who are peace loving. This is not about capability but mentality. Eventually China will try to rule US and Europe as well.

I find it strange that everyone is racing towards a vaccine instead of finding a treatment. Oil of oregano has had good results, some tests on covid-19 would be highly welcome. When Antibiotics were not popular, a therapy was gaining in 1940's called UV therapy which had promising result. Strange that no one is trying it out on Covid-19. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/p....

Comment not so great till iphone 7 (Score 0) 408

I've had various iphones in the family, and usually the iPhone lags behind other models in camera. Till iPhone 6, I don't think the photos were great at all. You need the following for good photos 1. Sony sensor (literally the best) 2. Carl zeiss lens (this is good for sure, others, you may have to test) 3. Good display (without which you won't really enjoy your hires photos) iPhone doesn't seem to use sony sensor / carl zeiss, they believe in their own technology. I have a Lumia 950 that is just great at photography. iPhone comes nowhere near. Some of the sony android phones are also very good. in general, the low cost models lack the camera that you're looking for. Nokia 8 is expected to be good here. It has the right combination.

Comment nothing different from what Trump did (Score 0) 142

I think this is just to woo voters. Don't think driverless cars can be stopped. Getting it to run in India would be a nightmare, as no AI algorithm is tested with the aggressive driving skills in traffic of Indian drivers. And Trump borrowed it from Indian politics, promise jobs and restrict H1B.

Comment global interpreter lock (Score 0) 372

One of the key issues with python is its global interpreter lock, making multi-threading highly inefficient. And its performance is not more than half of that of perl. Though for the purpose it is mostly used for, I don't think it matters. I liked the "one way of doing things" rather than the perl's "many way of doing things". Hate the mandatory indentation.
