The open-letter was sent on behalf of Business Roundtable, an association made up of the CEOs of America's largest companies. The CEOs of Amazon, AT&T, Dell, IBM, Qualcomm, SAP

I have some friends who work in un-scenic Walldorf, Germany at SAP CHQ near scenic Heidelberg, Germany.

They will be surprised to hear that they work for an American company.

I mean, if it was posted on Slashdot, it must be true.

doesn't that depend on how you read it? it could (and probably does) mean SAP is one of the biggest companies in US and not an American company. YouTube is the biggest video sharing platform in my country but that doesn't make it from my country...

well, depends... what do you mean by "EU censorship and protection initiatives"? yes, there are some stupid bills (the whole article 15 ordeal...), but EU has made a few steps in the right direction. as much as people (weirdly, it's mostly americans i see complaining about it O.o) don't like GDPR, it did bring some protections to users and actual punishment to the companies for not complying. the whole "the right to be forgotten" thing is silly, yes. but it turns out it wasn't the end of the internet as we knew it (unlike some reporters predicted). EU's decision Facebook can't use WhatsApp data for their Facebook platform by default is quite alright, in my opinion... all in all, EU is not all bad. it's mostly the companies that are trying to make you see EU as this big villain "censoring" the internet.
