New games are, old ones are dirt cheap. I habe a ~30 year backlog I need to get though, so even though my constraint is time I'm skimping on new / expensive titles.
Oh I do value creativity. I acknoledge that it takes time, education and sometimes a little luck and that creative people have to be compensated for what they do one way or the other. I don't believe that you inventing the next big thing gives you the right to demand money from everyone around the world who would like to use that idea for the next 200 years.
Because in "intellectual property" me taking your stuff does not mean that you don't have yours anymore.
You still have all the freedom in the world to apply your ideas the way you like, no matter who else uses them too.
That you expect a financial gain of being the first one (you heard of) to come up with something is your problem alone.
