Step-father got COVID-19 two months ago while in a rehab facility. He is in his mid-70's, diabetic, frequent TIA's, and COPD. He was on O2 but not a ventilator yet.

Three days later he was symptom free.

Not a cure, but we don't have one for the common cold either. Therapeutics like this help.

What does the INTERSTATE Commerce Clause have to do with it? As you point out, Feds (Congress) cannot touch intrastate commerce unless it is unconstitutional. And then it is SCOTUS that decides if a State law infringes. Based on 1A. The same amendment allowing 'peaceful assemblies' to tear up cities.

How slaves were treated in the U.S. was not Scriptural.

If a man strikes the eye of his slave man or the eye of his slave girl and he destroys it, he is to let the slave go free in compensation for his eye. And if he knocks out the tooth of his slave man or of his slave girl, he is to let the slave go free in compensation for his tooth.

Slavery in the Bible was more like H1-B aka indentured servant. There was a time limit (7 years) unless the 'slave' wanted to continue to work for the 'master'.

And for those feeling overly righteous, scripturally speaking, being gay is no more or less of a sin than sex out of wedlock, being greedy, drunk, etc.

It wasn't just a cake and a religious exemption. It was the artistic, creativity component. Selling the same 'model' cake to everyone except to [insert easily-offended, everyone-gets-a-trophy here] is lawful and required. Being forced to design a custom [insert artistic-specialty-item here] against your will is not.

If a cake shop sold a rainbow cake for children's parties but not for an [insert alphabet] wedding, that'd be wrong. But if they don't ever sell rainbow cakes, they shouldn't be forced to make one.

I pay about $110/month. For it I have three outlets, one being a DVR with multiple external drives for additional storage that also has Netflix and Prime, and allows streaming from it when not at home (both recorded and live TV) via Sling. Their guide has the channels logically grouped by content (mostly) so makes it easy to find and record shows. Remote outlets are wireless so I can move them anywhere such as a spare bedroom for guests.

When I'm done with work, the last thing I want to do is sit down in front of a computer and have to think about which provider to watch something on. Or which app to load on the TV (I purposely do not connect my TVs to the Internet).

The hassle of juggling providers and searching is just not worth the difference.

BTW, see my other comment of retransmission fees as another contributor to these cost increases--not just content providers.

I was an early adopter for RoadRunner and after setting it up myself with the 'installer' watching me (no clue what he was doing), I did a ping sweep of my subnet to see who else may be on in the neighborhood. Found a Windows computer without a firewall and shares openly available, including their printer. So I connected to their printer, with Windows faithfully downloading the drivers, and typed a brief letter stating how they were exposed and what they needed to do. And printed it. On their printer. A few minutes later, no ping.

I can only imagine the person sitting at their computer and all of a sudden their printer goes off. Still gives me a chuckle to this day.
