The CIA ruined international health organisations' attempts to vaccinate people in Pakistan, and elsewhere, after they faked a health visit to Sadam's compound in order to try to get blood samples from the inhabitants. It failed. When word got out that health helpers and doctors could be CIA agents many people refused to see them. Overall health suffered in those countries, mostly to the harmless elderly, children and incapacitated.

There is a market for genuine items with mistakes. Look at currency and stamps with printing errors, they're very collectable. If I had one of the boards I'd keep it and use it but protect it so it stays in good condition and then watch if it becomes collectable and valuable in a few years.
This bullshit by the staff at a company where they should all know better, and where it's probably regulated and forbidden by law to allow production data in developer environment, is why I quit the IT security industry a year ago. No-one in these companies, or any in fact, gives a damn about good security.
You do not want the password stored in clear text anywhere on the device, yet to display it on a screen that's exactly what you have to do. The only time the device should have the clear text password anywhere, even just in memory, is while it's authenticating a new connection and has received the password from the user and is hashing it to compare against the stored value.
You can bet you life that the crowds entering the building included agents from Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, and elsewhere specifically intent on stealing documents, drives, and maybe planting bugs.
