chicksdaddy writes "In a presentation at the ToorCon Hacking Conference in San Diego on Saturday, Eric Monti, a Senior Researcher at Trustwave's Spider Labs, demonstrated how to turn the popular JailbreakMe Tool for iPhones and iPads into stealthy rootkit-style malware that can monitor voice and video activity or intercept sensitive data, such as credit card magnetic stripe data from an iPhone-based transaction."

dkd903 was one of several folks to note that a bunch of details about Google's Android 3.0 are beginning to leak out. The platform is codenamed Gingerbread; it includes video chat to compete with the iPhone, and a graphical overhaul to try to make it look a bit better compared to its rivals.

This is just the the thing "my mother/reast of the world except the converted" has against Linux.. Non "fully" tested code coming out a "stable" release...

Marcelo your first priority should be to come up with a plausible patch plan.. ie:

<LI>There should be more than a few days between patches, preferably months.</LI>
<LI>There should be a REAL test task force, not
only rely on "nerds".</LI>
</UL>

Without STABILITY Linux will NEVER succeed...

And for Linus on the 2.5 side: Come up with a plan where the kernel is EASY to update.. We "nerds" know how to do this.. But the "TOTAL WORLD DOMINATION" is about the non "nerd/technical" people...
