And the businesses do not have to accept those loans if those terms are unacceptable... what's your point?

You mean congress? There's more than one man in congress.

Umm... wouldn't all the dealers have closed if the government wouldn't have given them a loan?

Say what you will about that being to vague, but a loan to a car company to produce affordable, clean transportation definitely qualifies for general welfare... Transportation has become critical for economic success.

Bill Would Require ISPs, Wi-Fi Users To Keep Logs 857

suraj.sun notes CNet reporting on bills filed in the US House and Senate that would require all ISPs and operators of Wi-Fi hotspots — including home users — to maintain access logs for 2 years to aid in law enforcement. The bills were filed by Republicans, but the article notes that the idea of forcing data retention has been popular on both sides of the aisle over the years. "Republican politicians on Thursday called for a sweeping new federal law that... would impose unprecedented data retention requirements on a broad swath of Internet access providers and is certain to draw fire from businesses and privacy advocates. ... Each [bill] contains the same language: 'A provider of an electronic communication service or remote computing service shall retain for a period of at least two years all records or other information pertaining to the identity of a user of a temporarily assigned network address the service assigns to that user [i.e., DHCP].'"

Nah, it's called the Plain View Doctrine.

Basically, anything found that isn't on the warrant needs to be in plain view and they can't move items looking for it unless moving items might yield what is specified in the warrant.

Having said that, those are some vague rules and I'm sure a cop could justify looking anywhere he damn well pleases.

I guess if they are looking for a dead body but they look inside the books on your bookshelf and find some drugs, it might not hold up.

Haha, you're funny. On the whole, drug users do commit more crimes than non-drug users. I'll give you that. On the other hand, poor people commit more crimes than rich people. Young people commit more crimes than old people. Punish the crime and treat the addict. Don't ignore illegal drug trafficking, regulate it. Drug use and sale in and of itself should not be a crime.
