Microsoft Game Software Preps Soldiers For Battle 44

coondoggie writes "Soldiers may go into battle better prepared to handle equipment and with a greater knowledge of their surroundings after an intellectual property licensing deal Monday between Microsoft and Lockheed Martin that will deepen the defense giant's access to visual simulation technology. Comment 1997, Slackware (Score 1) 739

In the late 1996 my friend talled me that there is a nice "Unix" for PC? I thought it might be interesting experience since I was administering some Solaris and Irix at that moment. It was Slackware (dont't remember the version but I'm pretty sure the kernel was pre 1.0) installed from a broken CD, which resulted in many packages not installed or installed not properly. It kept dumping core every couple of commands and overall experience was not very pleasant. However a couple of weeks later I gave it a second try. Downloaded most recent version of Slackware from sunsite (it took me more than one night over a modem ;) and installed. Now it was kinda working. The ethernet card was not detected (it took me couple more days to solve it) yet I liked it so much that after so many years I'm stick to Slackware... :)

The Lightning Hybrid and the Inizio EV 128

Mike writes "With auto show season hitting its stride, there's no shortage of incredible prototypes on display. First up is a brand new 100-mpg supercar by Lighting Hybrids. The biodiesel-fueled vehicle has its sights set on the automotive X prize and uses a hydraulic compression system to store energy from regenerative braking. Next, the Liv Inizio, a sleek fully-electric roadster that boasts a scorching top-speed of 150 mph and a 200-mile range, placing it in direct competition with the Tesla roadster."

Does anyone know where I could get a real, original, plain 101 qwerty keyboard? Without those annoying (to say the least) windows keys? I'm used to hit the spacebar with my right thumb and microsoft keys destroyed my ability to utilize keyboard. I have a a number of old keybords with DIN plug, which I connect through DIN->PS2 and PS2->USB converters but I'm afraid it won't run with next generation interface. Does anyone out in the world produce the real, 101 keyboard with USB connector?!?!?
