I know, I was wondering who's going to enforce it and how.

If you can force someone to configure his own Apache to return 451s through legal action, yes, you won't need ISPs.

But if you can't legally force the site owner to do so? At some point it'll go the Pirate Bay route, judges asking ISPs to return those codes, something that may be achieved by some DNS/proxy/redirect trickery (for that specific ISP customer anyway)

For site owners, keeping things working to serve a "You are not legally allowed to see this page" response, as opposed to just completely shut things down (if you can't fight back in court) sounds like a scenario that needs a reality check.

As someone who had to dig deep into WordPress codebase at some low point in life... there's little admins can do about it.

Besides, one of the strong selling points of WordPress is its engine for supporting plugins, which is itself a vast ecosystem. In other words, it allows you to run the most terrible pile of code you could ever encounter on the Internet.

Well... I definitely think that games are art, but because of themselves. Not because they have some music... that's just consequential. Cinema is art too, but not just because they also use music. Games are an unique art form by itself.

If it's good, bad, beautiful, or a piece of crap, it's a different thing. All art forms have plenty of every option. But this discussion has been on for decades. Here's the deal:

Most people who thinks games aren't art are going to die soon. They're usually old people reacting to any challenge to their status quo or specific acquired tastes.

For newer generations, "Are games art?" isn't even an acceptable discussion.

In 50 years a new art form will emerge, and the ones that naturally accept games as art today will outrage and flag it as "not art" in a second. That's just how history works.

That's exactly it. Linus may not be the friendliest person in the world, but he has done a superb job in keeping specific interests from corporations out of the kernel.

If anyone is fully aware that kernel developers aren't neck-bearded dudes living in basements (anymore), but actual paid employees from the biggest corporations in the world, that guy is Linus.

Anyone remembers this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

I've always wondered about people who buy these kind of cables.

It's from the analog days. When audio was transmitted the analog way, it made sense to have good sets of cables though the entire circuit, from source to speakers, and whatever you had in the middle (e.g. if you were into precise equalization). Main reason was cable attenuation due to intrinsic conductor resistance, that could *really* affect analog signals even in short distances, and of course signal/noise ratio.

So, the notion of "premium audio needs premium cables" is now somehow written into collective unconsciousness.

With that in mind, there's several reasons to buy a >$300 premium ethernet audio cable in 2015:

#1 you're ignorant
#2 you're ignorant and you've got money to burn
#3 you're ignorant and you want to show your ignorance off
#4 you're out of your mind. also you're ignorant.

See? There's plenty of people like that in the world. Best businesses margins are based in extreme stupidity.
