I'll just hit on a few points in your post, since it seems quite directed at me. For the record though, I was trying to imply by the subject of my original post that this isn't me speaking as much as it is those people I know who's knee jerk reaction to somebody saying that would vote for kerry is "But... But.... He supports... ABORTION!!!????!!!????"
Would Jesus vote for Bush? I doubt it. Would Jesus even vote? Go out and look at the main thread... sbuckhopper has some great comments on this.
Economics and trickling down: I generally agree with your points. But I do like my extra couple hundred $$$ too....

As for abortion, well, I wonder if you're in full

Yes, I know the facts. I do, however, think the bible teaches that life begins with conception. Is that hard to back up? Sort of. But even given the above belief, I'm not sure I support a law against it, especially since it is so controversial that it tends to make people talk about it instead of the real issues. (Furthermore, the bible teaches that extra-marial sex is as wrong as murder, therefore abortion shouldn't realy be an issue...)
>You consider abortion murder and something

>state-sponsored execution?
This is a tricky answer. In general, no i don't like it. But many people do make the point that the Bible *seems* to support it. I still wish it would go away, especially with the danger of false conviction, and the ability to reform one's life (offered by Jesus; read the bible)
Aborting an undeveloped feotus that can't survive outside the womb is a cardinal sin but killing children isn't?
There is no cardinal sin. Sin is sin is sin is sin. All equal.
rather than a woman's right to make the choices that will determine how her life runs its course?
<HarshAnswer>She already decided; she had sex (not true in rape cases, but otherwise)</HarshAnswer>
But I think your final analysis is close to the truth of what some of these people believe: every sperm is sacred, and eggs too. God has ordained a time for every man/woman/child to be born and to die; humans are not to interfere with it.
Reading back over my post, I see it is hard to follow my chain of thought, much less pigeonhole my position. Let me say that I am largely undecided on many popular social issues... I am a Christian, but not (i would image) of the same stipe as Mr. Bush.
