erm....I can't let this pass without commenting. Whilst titanium has some quite remarkable properties, hardness is not one of them. Indeed pure titanium is rather soft. Do not confuse strength with hardness. When people refer to "strength" they usually refer to tensile strength which is a measure of the resistance a material has to plastic deformation.
Titanium is actually 40% the weight of regular mild steel, but this figure can very depending on which Ti alloy you are dealing with.
