Journal karniv0re's Journal: echo "tobacco" | smoke.sh

I've been getting into tobacco pipes lately. This is the super fun hobby that I need right now. I always need something to chill out with while Trump destroys the world. Back in the first term, it was watches and ultra running. Thankfully, I'm back to running after 3 years of shitty plantar fascia. I've got so many watches now, the only ones I really want anymore are out of my price range. So I needed a more affordable hobby. I'm still a cigar guy, but I feel like they are just a habit at this point, and I'm enjoying them somewhat less than I used to. But the world of pipes is a fresh hobby and everything is new to me! I'm developing my palette and flavor profile preferences, much as I have done with cigars, but now I have completely different tobacco styles to consider.

Additionally, the world of artisan pipe making is incredible. They can get as cheap or as expensive as you want, much like watches (to a lesser price point, thankfully). I've now got a $600 meerschaum rhino head pipe, and an Italian estate pipe, as well as a Savinelli and a Chacom, and the first pipe I bought at the renaissance faire, which kick started this whole thing.

Now with a steady rotation of pipes, I am diving more into different tobaccos. There's a lot to keep me occupied.

On the tech side, I have been building out my own little AI battle station using the Knowledge Hoarding Pattern. I guess in most cases, knowledge hoarding is an anti-pattern, but in this case, we're hoarding it as Skills and documentation that can be used by Claude or Cursor. We can use this to combine skills and remix existing knowledge into new features.

I'm also working on extracting all of the siloed knowledge such as Tidal jobs, Airflow jobs, Jenkins jobs, Wiki production support documentation, server stats, etc into a single source for AI production support. It's a tedious process, but I think it's going to be totally worth it when it's all put together as a Super Digital Employee.

Let's hope I don't AI myself out of a job.
