I looked at a couple of results and 'recency' does not seem to be part of the algo.
This seems to be a continuance of the PageRank paradigm which is inherently flawed: one algo for 1.3 Mio users?!
Honesty pays, but it doesn't seem to pay enough to suit some people. -- F.M. Hubbard
