In my mind it's not that different from the police entering your home to chase out a thief who broke in. They walked in through the same door that was basically left wide open, got the thief, and left. This is legal, and I don't have an issue with that.
If the authorities snooped around and helped themselves to expensive beers in the fridge while they were there, then I would certainly object more, but until I see evidence of them doing bad things while they were in there (being in there to STOP the people who were actively doing bad things), then I think I'm ok with it.
And of course anyone who actually closed and locked the door was entirely unaffected by all of this.
